Who's got the best QBs? Houston, that's who.

After you read that headline, you must think I'm nuts. However, I'm not declarding that Matt Schaub, Sage Rosenfels and newly-acquired quarterback Quinn Gray are any better than Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer or the recently-retired Brett Favre--I'm only saying that as a group, the Texans' QBs may be the best in the NFL.

There's no other team than the Texans that have as much solidarity at the quarterback position from first to third string. Hell, some teams don't even have three QBs--Dallas (Tony Romo and Brad Johnson) and Arizona (Matt Leinart and Kurt Warner) have only two on their active rosters.

There may be some teams, such as the Cowboys and Cardinals, who have better starters and primary backups none have a capable third QB who can produce when flung into action. Gray, who will presumably hold down the No. 3 spot behind back up Rosenfels and starter Schaub, has enough size, mobility, arm and experience to win a few for the Texans when pressed into action. Although his record as a starter in 2007 was a bit pedestrian (2-3) when he filled in for an injured David Garrard, Gray, who signed with the Jaguars in 2005 as an undrafted free agent, remains a good, deployable option for the Texans.
